Titanic is showing at Zero Gravity this week

While most of us in Dubai will be at work or still in bed when the Oscars ceremony starts (it's at 9am UAE time), there's no excuse to miss this fabulous film screening that's happening later on in the day.

Beach club Zero Gravity's Cinema on the Sand is showing Titanic at 8pm on Sunday February 24, and it's the perfect chance to kick back on the beach and catch a top movie under the stars.

The movie, which itself took 14 Oscar nominations and won 11 awards at the 1998 Academy Awards, tells the tale of a 17-year-old aristocrat who falls in love with a kind (but poor) artist aboard the luxurious R.M.S. Titanic ship. And we all know what happens next.

Tickets will cost you Dhs50, but you’ll get Dhs50 towards food and drink so it’s basically free – sort of.

There'll be a special Hollywood-themed menu, with options including popcorn, chilli cheese fries and nachos as well as special beverages which are available al fresco throughout the evening.

It's worth remembering that this screening is for those aged 21 and over only (remember your ID), and there's a casual dress code so just head along as you are.

Who needs a red carpet when you've got a whole beach.
Dhs50. Sun Feb 24, 7pm-midnight. Zero Gravity, Skydive Dubai Drop Zone, Dubai Marina (04 399 0009).
