Kids’ storytelling summer camp launched by The Courtyard Playhouse

Have a budding thespian in your family? Well now you can release their inner storyteller thanks to a new summer camp for kids.

The storytelling theatre summer camp at The Courtyard Playhouse runs daily from 9am until noon over a three-week period, from Sunday June 30 until Thursday July 4, from Sunday July 7 to Thursday July 11 and from Sunday July 14 to Thursday July 18.

Kids will explore five picture books by author Julia Donaldson – The Gruffalo, Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book, Wake Up Do Lydie Lou, Room on the Broom, and Zog.

“Through drama, your child will develop their communication skills, learn to work as part of a team, think on the spot and build confidence,” says the team from The Courtyard Playhouse.

The course is taught by fully qualified teachers in an improv theatre and KHDA-licensed training centre.

On each day a new book will be explored, and will be the basis for theatre games, mime, role play, art and craft, speech and learning basic stagecraft.

The course is run by The Courtyard Playhouse in Al Quoz and costs Dhs1,155 per week, or Dhs1,100 with sibling discount.
From Dhs1,100. Sun-Thu 9am-noon. Jun 30-Jul 18. The Courtyard Playhouse, Al Quoz, (050 781 2269).
