Escape Hunt and Rove Hotels launches Dubai’s first augmented reality game

If you’ve experienced all of Dubai’s escape rooms and looking for a new place to get out of, we guarantee you’ve never experienced this new virtual one at Rove Downtown.

Rove Hotels has teamed up with Escape Hunt Dubai to bring the UAE’s first-ever augmented reality game, and those who complete the mission the quickest have the chance to win some big prizes.

Taking place until Saturday September 21, Operation Mindfall will be set up in Rove Downtown where teams of two to five people can take part to try beat the 60-minute challenge.

Using augmented reality technology that require team members to explore not just one room, but various parts of Rove Downtown, and maybe even beyond, to find clues.

If you’re in it to win it, the team that finishes the challenge each week in the quickest time will win vouchers for The Daily’s Bench Brunch and a free game at Escape Hunt’s Galleria Mall branch.

Even better, members of the team with the fastest record by the end of September 21 will each win an overnight stay for two at Rove At The Park, including tickets to Dubai Parks And Resort.

The experience is set at Dhs99 per person, and those who take part will get a buy one, get one free voucher for the Bench Brunch and a 25 percent discount voucher to any Escape Hunt game.

All set for the mission? Here’s your brief: Spider Tech has leaked a dormant but deadly virus into the main water system. In just 60 minutes time, it will activate the virus from its secure HQ servers in Rove Downtown and gain control.

Under the codename Operation Mindfall, agents (i.e. you) must find the anti-virus and destroy Spider Tech’s servers. Good luck.

For more escape rooms to beat the heat, here’s three more to try around the city.

Dhs99. Until Sat Sep 21. Thu-Fri 1pm-10pm. Rove Downtown, Downtown Dubai, (04 334 4473)
