Looking for inspo to get you through the rest of the week? There’s plenty going on Dubai tonight (Wednesday August 7) – from pub quizzes to dance parties. Or just grab a much needed cuppa and cake.

Dance to Jamaican star Charly Black
DIFC nightclub Mantis is all set to host Jamaican star Charly Black tonight. Charly Black, one of Jamaica’s hottest performers, songwriter and an all-round music icon will be playing in Dubai for the very first time this week. Also known as Desmond Mendez, Charly Black made waves around the world with his 2008 hit Gyal You A Party Animal. The pioneering artist will be bringing his reggae fusion music to the DIFC venue during its Notorious Wednesday’s urban night.

Sweet tooth? Palm Jumeirah’s Revo Café is turning three today and in celebration it’s offering cake for Dhs3 to everyone who heads down from noon until 10pm. Elevenses, afternoon tea or dessert, sorted.

Head to a marvel-lous quiz night (get it?) all about your favourite superheroes from the Avengers and beyond. The special quiz is tonight at Publique, so bring your clever clogs.

Taking place from 8pm until 10pm, Souk Madinat Jumeirah’s ski lodge bar wants you to assemble your brainiest pals – that means all your Tony Starks and Bruce Banners – to celebrate Marvel Comics' 80th birthday.

If you have a spare Spidey suit lying around, now’s the time to wear it, as there’s free drinks for whoever comes in the best Marvel outfit.
