Art book fair coming to Sharjah this week

Sharjah’s International Book Fair attracted a record 2.52 million visitors this year – but don’t worry if you missed out.

This week Sharjah Art Foundation will be hosting its annual art book fair, called FOCAL POINT, from November 14 to November 16.

You can pick up comics, vines, and other art books from more than 150 independent publishers and artists in the region.

FOCAL POINT will take place in the historic Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, and there will be a number of workshops over the three days, including ones on zine making and how to draw manga.

Local bands Adiga and Sways N Edges will also be there on Friday and Saturday to keep you entertained as you browse through the hundreds of books on offer.

This week’s event, which is part of Sharjah Art Foundation’s participation in the celebration of Sharjah as the 2019 UNESCO World Book Capital, will be the second edition of FOCAL POINT and will have a focus on comic books and zines.

Head to Sharjah Art Foundation’s website here for the full itinerary.
Free. Thu-Fri 4pm-10pm; Sat 2pm-9pm. Bait Obaid Al Shamsi, Corniche Street (06 568 5050).
