Fireworks, comedy gigs and more continue to make DSF 25 something extra special

Dubai Shopping Festival: The best things that happened in Dubai this week

Another week goes by in Dubai and as we look towards the end of January, we’ve had another tonne of events, fireworks, concerts and more to keep staving off the January blues (and pay day is just around the corner, so that’s another hooray).

Here’s the best stuff that happened in Dubai during Dubai Shopping Festival 2020 – which, in case you missed it, is the 25th edition of the annual retail bonanza.

It continues to be fireworks galore across the city, and in the last week Al Seef and The Dubai Frame have got in on the action with some spectacular displays at the Dubai Creek and Zabeel Park respectively.

Elsewhere, one of the coolest night-time experiences continued throughout DSF, with the swyp Market Outside The Box having returned to Burj Park for 2020’s festival.

The market features tonnes of vendors showing unique and hand-crafted wares, plus food stalls and trucks, live music and so much more. It’s ongoing until the end of the Dubai Shopping Festival on Saturday February 1, so don’t miss out. To see all the action from the week just gone, click here.

We also caught international comedian and Netflix star Jo Koy on Monday January 20 live at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena – and he did not disappoint.

The comedian nailed it, with anecdotes about his upbringing in an Asian household, sing-offs with the audience, and even time spent in the foyer afterwards with the crowd to take selfies and hang out with his fans – what a gent.
