Sotheby's Dubai to present modern art from Andy Warhol, Banksy at week-long exhibition

The work of some of the biggest names in modern and contemporary art will be making their way to Dubai this month.

Sotheby’s Dubai’s first exhibition of the year is set to bring together 21 modern artworks spanning genres and continents, with exclusive pieces from Andy Warhol, Banksy and more from around the world.

Taking place from Sunday February 9 until Thursday February 13, the limited-time gallery will be open from 10am until 7pm daily, and is free to attend.

As for the works being displayed, expect pop artist Robert Indiana’s well-known ‘Love’ sculpture, creative works on paper by Andy Warhol, Ayman Baalbaki’s signature expressionist freedom fighter and street artist Banksy’s take on military helicopters.

“We are starting the new year as we mean to go on, with a curated exhibition that brings something different from our international sales directly to the doorsteps of collectors in Dubai,” said Head of Sotheby’s Dubai Katia Nounou Boueiz.

“The view will allow visitors to explore the synergies between these artists, who were working at the same time but in different corners of the globe."

The works will then travel to London to be auctioned as part of Sotheby’s 20th Century Art and Middle East and Contemporary Curated sales in March and April.
