McGettigan’s to throw weekend-long St Patrick’s Day festival

Two nights of top Irish music, plus a cracking brunch deal

McGettigan’s to throw weekend-long St Patrick’s Day festival

We’re now well into the new year, the new decade even, and as surely as Valentine’s Day and the Six Nations come rolling around every year, so too does St. Patrick’s Day.

To get your parties booked in early to celebrate the Emerald Isle, which takes place on Tuesday March 17 this year, you might want to take a peek at not one but two massive concerts taking place at one of Dubai’s most famous bars this year.

Taking place a little bit earlier this year, McGettigan’s is getting ready to host two big gigs stuffed full of massive Irish bands on back-to-back evenings.

On Thursday March 12 and Friday 13 from 5.30pm, McGettigan’s Souk Madinat Jumeirah is taking over the Souk Madinat Amphitheatre.

The Ultimate Paddy’s Party will have local bands warming up throughout the evening before Hermitage Green hit the stage and, finally, The Coronas return to Dubai for a night of Irish indie-rock. On Friday, The Academic and Picture This – famous internationally for their smash hit Take My Hand.

Tickets to Thursday’s festivities cost Dhs180 and come with one house drink included. For Friday, entry comes as part of brunch packages at any of the three McGettigan’s between Souk Madinat, JLT and DWTC. Brunch prices vary between each of the three branches, but all include tickets to the concerts and bus transport too (which, we’re sure, will be a pretty fun journey).

Brunch runs for four hours in the afternoon, with tickets to brunch at McGettigan’s Souk Madinat Jumeirah costing Dhs475, Dhs450 at McGettigan’s JLT and Dhs400 at McGettigan’s DWTC.
