It’s not every day we get an extra 24 hours in February. In fact, it only comes around every four years, so you best believe all the leap day babies of Dubai and their pals are going all out to celebrate.

Good thing, then that bars and restaurants around the city will be offering discounts, meal deals for Dhs29 and even a free brunch for those born on the rare day.

Best news? It’s not just for those leaplings, as a few of these deals apply to everyone. So, have a gander through our list and get celebrating this leap year in Dubai.

JLT’s French bistro and bar Couqley is marking the very special occasion with a colourful platter of four soups for Dhs29, including a mini beetroot, broccoli, yellow lentil, and mushroom soup. But that’s not all, as foodies can also get a bottle of grape for Dhs29 on the day.

Leap day babies miss four birthdays, so Deliveroo wants to make it up to them by offering a four-layered cake slice at the Clinton St. Baking Company via the Deliveroo app for Dhs29. Only available on Saturday February 29, the limited-edition cake will have a layer of vanilla cake, chocolate cake, red velvet cake and caramel cake, coated entirely in teal buttercream icing.

Park Hyatt Dubai’s Traiteur brunch
The chic Creekside brunch, which nabbed Time Out Dubai’s Best Brunch of 2019, will be completely free for everyone born on February 29. Taking place on Friday February 28 from 1pm until 4.30pm, those celebrating their leap year birthdays can choose between the soft drinks and sparkling brunch packages and get it completely for free, priced at Dhs495 and Dhs695, respectively.

Perry & Blackwelder’s
Original smokehouse at Souk Madinat Jumeirah, will be hosting a leap year party to celebrate the extra day. What can celebrators expect? A free two-course dinner which includes a main and dessert, along with selected beverages and dishes priced at Dhs29 all day long, including  chili cheese fries, P&B’s signature chicken wings, glazed chicken poppers and spinach and artichoke dip. That’s not all, as for one hour between 11pm and midnight, short measures will be priced at Dhs15. Bargain.

Radisson RED Dubai Silicon Oasis
Fancy a hotel deal to celebrate all things leap day this week? A new tech-savvy hotel in Dubai has just the staycation offer for you. Radisson Red Dubai Silicon Oasis is marking its opening in a leap year with deals on rooms from Dhs23. The catch? The price goes up by Dhs1 each day until Saturday February 29. Although, so do the rooms available. So, 24 rooms will be set at Dhs24 on Monday February 24, and so on. This continues until Saturday February 29 and rooms will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Find out more right here.

For all those leap day babies that want to celebrate their special day to the fullest, Mezcla, SoBe’s late-night party, will be hosting an endless bash with a special treat. Expect rhythms set by nomadic underground artists and four free mixed drinks and bites to share with two other friends.

Meliã Desert Palm Dubai
Dubai’s chic polo resort is inviting all leaplings to celebrate their birthday with a certain someone special, offering up 50 percent off on a meal for two. Best part? You get to choose from the resort’s range of venue’s, including brasserie-style classics served poolside at Epicure, afternoon tea overlooking the polo fields at Portico, wood-fired grill specialties served at RARE or tasty bites and drinks at The Polo Bar and Red Bar.

The hotel’s View by Dusit is offering a second drink on the house for not just leap day birthday celebrators, but everyone in Dubai. We’re always up for buy one, get one free deals.

Benjarong, 24th St. and Another Bar
We’re finally getting the 29th day this month, so you can expect a 29 percent discount on your entire bill at hotel Dusit Thani Dubai’s Benjarong, 24th St. and Another Bar. Plus you'll get super views of the Burj Khalifa and skyline views.

Trader Vic’s
The popular Polynesian venue on JBR will be offering all those born between February 28 and March 1 a 29 percent discount on the entire bill. Diners can opt to sit inside or outside at the terrace to enjoy the cool winter breeze, and take in that beautiful Dubai sunset.

Sports bar and restaurant O’Learys Dubai Creek will be offering up a selection of dishes for Dhs29 each including chicken wings, classic Caesar salad and chicken quesadillas. It’s 29 for 29 here, and it’s not just for the sporty leap day babies, but for everyone.
