Nicola Barber’s New York cheesecake

Marc Hayes, Lurpak
Rating:

An absolute perfect example of a baked New York cheesecake. Slow-baked and gently cooled without any cracks takes practice.

A lovely classic New York-style Vanilla Cheesecake. These can be very diverse for any flavour toppings. Looks like it’s cooked very nicely.

The cake looks a quite dry to me, and unfinished business.

Wonderful consistency. It’s not easy to make a macaron with a smooth, crisp shell and chewy interior.

Very nice macaron with nicely elevated feet and it's consistent in the size both top and bottom. I like the addition of toppings as it adds texture.

Well someone has some skills, what a delicious little sweet, evenly-baked macaron. The shape and size are matching and it has just the right amount of ganache in the middle. Thumbs up.

This looks so delicate and pretty. There’s a very even layer of chocolate ganache, which looks rich and tasty, while the macaron itself looks light and crunchy. The decoration is lovely too.

Great use of a seasonal product. Nicely cooked and I appreciate the addition of the sauce for extra flavour. Any apple dessert feels very comforting.

Alex Stumpf, BB Social Dining
Rating:

I would give it a bit more colour and make the crust more visible, as being a galette it’s all about the crust. But I love baked apples especially when they are sliced a bit bigger to keep the structure.

This looks like a hearty dessert. There a decent chunks of fruit and the pastry looks well baked.

Nice variation between almonds and pistachio and the crust and shape seem in line. If now the sweetness is on track then you nailed all points.

Beautiful bread. Clean and clear dimensions within the bread. Cross-section cuts clean so the bread is baked perfectly. Similarly the outer crust looks evenly brown. A for effort as it is labour intensive.

Alex Stumpf, BB Social Dining Leopard Bread
Rating:
2.5/5
Nicely baked cake, very uniform with the marbling of the cake. The crust seems a bit dry though.

Amy Mathieson, Time Out Dubai
Rating:

This is very creative and the pattern is excellent. It’s a fun bake, though looks a teeny bit dry.
