As one of the oldest continuously-inhabited locations in the world, Alexandria is well worth adding to your travel list.

And now Etihad Airways has launched new flights to the city direct from Abu Dhabi.

Leaving four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, flights will leave at 2.15pm from Abu Dhabi Airport, arriving in the Egyptian destination at 4.50pm.

Alexandria is home to the Great Library of Alexandria and the Pharos Lighthouse among other significant historic attractions.

The Abu Dhabi airline now operates 32 flights per week to Egypt, including 28 to the capital city Cairo.
