Ladies-only Airbnb-style rental platform launches in Dubai

A brand-new Airbnb-style platform that’s aimed exclusively at women has launched in Dubai, aiming to provide safer travel options for women while traveling.

Golightly, which shares a name with the iconic Breakfast At Tiffany’s character played by Audrey Hepburn, Holly Golightly, is a private members booking platform that’s operated entirely by women, and bookings are only available to approved female members.

It allows you to find an apartment, villa or other homes that have been listed for sharing – all of which are owned or managed by women.

The owner decided to create a more transparent, female-only portal.

Since it’s a private club, you either have to be referred directly by a member, or approved by the team running the website via an interview.

It’s designed to protect both landlords and customers, with profiles being shared between hosts and guests so you know exactly who you’re dealing with.

Blokes, too, are welcome to join with guests, just as long as the host is happy for that.

And you’re now able to rent properties in Dubai on the site, with apartments featuring in the city including a 12th floor apartment on the Palm for US$300 (Dhs1,102 per night).

Other locations globally include London, Miami, New Orleans, Hawaii, Calgary in Canada, Nicaragua, Lamu in Kenya, Cartagena in Colombia, New South Wales in Australia and many more.
