Smart Gates at Dubai Airport reactivated

Smart gates have now been reactivated in Dubai Airport Terminal 3, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has confirmed.

Passengers departing from Dubai can use their passport, not Emirates ID, to scan at the gate, all to quickly get through departures.

Departing passengers don’t need to register in order to use the smart gates, or be a Dubai resident.

"The restart of the smart gates helps to facilitates and simplifies the travel procedures, as the smart gates consider the safest way to travel in light of the current conditions that the world defeat against the Covid-19,” said director general of the GDRFA in Dubai Major General Mohammed Al Marri.

"This step helps to enhance the passenger's confidence in the emirates of Dubai about this procedures which constitute a safety umbrella for them."
