The world’s most expensive package trip

If you’ve been struck by Eat, Pray, Love-inspired travel, the world’s most expensive package trip has just launched

There comes a point in everyone’s calendar when it’s simply time for a holiday. Occasionally that desire for a holiday turns into an urge to do an Elizabeth Gilbert, and bow out for a year of self-exploration, in the style of bestselling book and movie
Eat, Pray, Love.

No more backpacks and scrubbing the floor in ashrams for you though. If that desire for a year out is also met with a more-than-healthy bank account, we may just have uncovered the perfect retreat for you. Claiming to be the world’s most expensive wellness trip, it spans an entire year (for the most expensive itinerary) and criss-crosses the globe, from Vietnam to Costa Rica.

Launched by Health and Fitness Travel, this year-long trip starts in August with macrobiotic cooking lectures at the SHA Wellness Clinic in Spain, and ends in July the following year with a full medical evaluation at Kurotel in Brazil. In between, you can expect stops in Ibiza for kickboxing training with a British gold medallist, water sports and detox diets in Turkey, safari in South Africa, a yoga and raw, vegan diet retreat in the Philippines, a helicopter ride over Australia’s Twelve Apostles, trekking through New Zealand’s stunning Southern Alps, hiking in the Red Mountains of Utah and hiking through the jungle of St Lucia. Luxury gappers can also choose a tailored version of this trip. There’s also a cheaper, shorter six-month option.
From Dhs878,717 per person (including business class flights). (+44 203 397 8891).
