Ladies only Hatta yoga retreat

Time Out profiles a ladies only Hatta yoga retreat, at Hatta Fort Hotel. Running initially in November 2016, similar events will take place later

We all know that feeling of being overworked, overtired and generally run down. Office life can have a hugely detrimental effect on our wellness, be it through raised stress levels, sleep-loss or back pains from being hunched over a computer all day.

Thankfully, though, people like Suzanne Cork are here to help you overcome the ill-effects of your work-based travails. The yoga instructor and nutritional therapist had a serious health scare in her 20s and has been on a mission to improve her lifestyle and help others do the same ever since.

On Thursday November 10 to Saturday 12, she is running a women-only yoga retreat aimed at female professionals and entrepreneurs looking to recharge their batteries and reinvigorate their minds. Based in the wonderfully natural surroundings of Hatta Fort Hotel, the wellness weekend will primarily concentrate on yoga sessions, mindfulness exercises and the chance to connect with like-minded women from the business world.

“I know first-hand what it’s like in the corporate world, having worked as a lawyer before following my dream to create a yoga and wellness business – weeks can feel long and weekends are precious,” Cork tells Time Out. “That inspired me to design a weekend retreat offering something unique to everyone who signs up.”

And how is this getaway unique? Well, Cork has enlisted the help of business coach Tricia Evans, who will be running a workshop alongside the yoga activities. Entitled “What successful people have in common: insider secrets from a coach”, the session will help you explore what success means to you and how you will achieve it.

“I am so excited to have Tricia on board. Her life story is incredible, as is her natural ability to inspire and empower,” Cork says. “By the end of the weekend, you’ll not only feel mentally and physically restored by the yoga sessions and stunning setting in Hatta but will be full of new tools and ideas for creating success in your life.”

So if you’re looking to escape the daily grind and find ways to make it less arduous, all signs lead to Hatta…
