Italy's best cities

Embark on a tour of Venice, Florence and Rome

Travel, Rest of the world

With its impressive museums, galleries housing the works of some of the world’s greatest artists, historic landmarks and breathtaking scenery, Italy is perhaps one of the best places for a cultural break.

Travel firm Holiday Factory is offering a six-day package featuring a one-night hotel stay in Venice and two nights each in Florence and Rome, with train tickets between the trio of destinations all part of the deal, too.

With such a short time in Venice you’ll have a lot to cram in, and the Grand Canal should be your first stop. One of the most romantic ways to experience it is to take a tour on a traditional gondola. You could also see a section of the waterway using the water taxi (vaporetto) public transport. Take some time out on Rialto Bridge to snap some great shots of the canal from a seriously good vantage point.

In Florence, you’ll be fully immersed in the Renaissance period of art. It’s all around you in the city, but to see the greats up close, including Botticelli, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, head to The Uffizi Gallery. And then cap off the trip in Rome amid the grandeur of the Colosseum.
