Rock Werchter, Belgium, July 2-5: One of Europe's oldest festivals, the 35th Rock Werchter lineup includes Coldplay, The Killers, Elbow and the Prodigy.
T-Mobile INmusic Festival, Zagreb, Croatia, June 24-25: A lovely lakeside event including Moby, Kraftwerk, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lily Allen and some hard Anthrax rock.
Roskilde, Denmark, July 2-5: More than 100,000 people will assemble to hear the Pet Shop Boys, Kanye West, Coldplay, Nine Inch Nails and Fleet Foxes.
Electric Picnic, Stradbally Estate, Ireland - September 4-6: Orbital are rumoured to be playing and last year the lineup boasted Sigur Ros, My Bloody Valentine, The Sex Pistols and Underworld. Not bad for an event with a capacity of only 35,000.
Hove, Arendal, Norway- June 22-25: There's a good list of well known artists announced so far, including Franz Ferdinand, White Lies, Faith No More and Metronomy.
Open'er, Gnynia, Poland – July: You’ll get treated to some of the biggest names on this year's festival circuit, including Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks, The Prodigy and Gossip. The nearest airport is Gdansk.
B'estfest, Bucharest, Romania - July 4-6 and July 11: Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers, Alanis Morissette, Stereophonics, Cypress Hill and Manu Chao join the line-up.
Fiberfib, Benicassim, Spain, July 16-19: It’ll be pretty hot under canves, but worth the sweating for Kings of Leon, The Killers and Oasis.
Way Out West, Gothenburg, Sweden - August 14-15: Acts ranging from Anthony and The Johnsons, Bon Iver and Arctic Monkeys to My Bloody Valentine and Lily Allen.
Exit, Novi Sad, Serbia - July 9-12: Held in a fortress in Serbia's second city, Novi Sad, there are 20 stages dotted around the moat, with the main two arenas hosting dance tunes and the best of indie and rock. Camp by the Danube or hire an apartment for a pittance. So far the lineup includes the Arctic Monkeys, Moby, Kraftwerk and superstar DJs like Carl Cox and Sasha.
