DXB wi-fi crowned world’s fastest

Simply silly wi-fi speeds for DXB visitors

Dubai loves being the best, and now it can add one more trophy to its cabinet.

DXB wi-fi service has today been crowned the world’s fastest, with the world’s largest international airport now offering eye-watering speeds of up to 100mbps free internet service for all visitors.

Whether you’re coming or going, meeting someone in arrivals or have rubbish internet at home, the wi-fi at Dubai International is now better than most LTE cellular services you’ll find out and about, and is up there with some of the best home broadband available on the market.

Ignoring the slightly cheesy name - “WOW-Fi”, presumably because it’s so wowing awesome - the service has been used by an average of 100,000 users per day for the past couple of months, and Dubai Airports isn’t showing any sign of slowing down. As the project continues, another 6,000 wireless hotspots are being installed at both DXB and Dubai World Central airports.

So the next time your home hub starts playing up, get down to DXB, grab a coffee, stick on some Netflix and get comfy.
