Emirates reveals major DXB upgrade plans

New initiative aims to massively boost DXB customer experience

Travel

If you travel through DXB regularly with Emirates, it won’t be long before you notice some major changes, after the airline revealed massive plans to improve passenger experience through the airport.

The “Together” initiative isn’t just an Emirates activity, however, as a joint working group has launched involving Dubai Customs, Dubai General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai Police and Dubai Airports. The initiative will focus on making the Emirates hub at DXB’s Terminal 3 the most advanced-yet-simplified airport in the world, without compromising on security and safety.

Emirates will be aiming to deliver tangible and feasible real-world solutions improving security, safety, service, savings and speed, using smart technologies – the six s-words. Areas for improvement will include simplifying passenger check-in and baggage drop-off by implementing more intelligent technologies along the entire process.

At the moment all plans are just at the discussion level, but given the group’s ambition of making DXB ten years ahead of other global cities, we wouldn’t be surprised to see this move quickly.
