UAE, Bahrain and Saudi close airspace to Qatar Airways

Developments could ground all Qatar Airways flights to and from Doha

Following the news of UAE airlines suspending all flights to and from Qatar, reports have emerged of the UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia closing national airspace to the neighbouring island.

According to the CAPA, the centre for aviation, the airspace ban could effectively lead to a grounding of all Qatar Airways flights, since the nation is completely surrounded on all sides by Bahraini, Saudi and Emirati airspace. A Qatar Airways aircraft would have to break international airspace regulations in order to land in the capital of Doha, as you can see in the graphic below, courtesy of Business Insider.

Qatari broadcaster beIN Sport has also been pulled from the UAE airwaves.
