Need a good excuse to head out to Edinburgh for winter? The largest international airline in the world has a good one for you.
Emirates Airlines has announced it will start a daily service between the Scottish capital and Dubai from Monday October 1, 2018.
Estimated travel time between the UAE and Edinburgh will take between seven hours and 30 minutes to eight hours, with economy class prices currently going from around Dhs2,500.
This will be the airline's second direct flight to Scotland, with it already going to Glasgow twice a day.
Now with Edinburgh as an option, travellers from Dubai have a whole new set of sights to go and see.
The Scottish capital is the second most-visited city in the UK by tourists, and for good reason.
Take a stroll in its medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town, and of course see Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny.
Scotland’s social scene is also a treasure, with plenty of hidden cafés and brilliant pubs to sit back and enjoy some banter.
With the announcement, Emirates' divisional senior vice president Hubert Frach said: “We’re increasing our capacity to Scotland to meet growing demand.
“And by introducing a daily flight to Edinburgh, it will complement our current double daily flights between Dubai and Glasgow.”
The new service will be operated by an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER, featuring eight private first class suites, 42 lie-flat business class seats, and 304 seats in economy.
If you’re heading to Dubai’s airports, you may get a glance of the new passport control system being installed, which will get people through passport control in around ten seconds. http://www.timeoutdubai.com/aroundtown/news/83092-get-through-dubai-airp...
There’s no better time to experience some Scottish culture.
