New Emirates flights from Dubai to Stansted

The new service will start on June 8

Emirates has announced new daily flights to Stansted Airport starting next month.

The first will take off on Friday June 8, making Emirates the first airline to operate a direct flight to Dubai from the Essex airport and meaning British expats now have even more options when heading home. The news comes as Royal Brunei announced it would cease to operate its popular (and often relatively affordable) Dubai to London Heathrow route from October of this year.

The new Emirates service will run on the Boeing 777-300ER which has new spruced-up business and economy class cabins as well as fully enclosed private suites in first class.

The outbound flight will depart Dubai International Airport at 9.30am arriving into Stansted at 2.10pm, while the inbound flight will depart at 9.10pm and arrive in Dubai at 7.10am the next day.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates airline, said: “The introduction of the new London Stansted-Dubai service underscores our commitment to serve London, with operations soon to three different airports in the city.

“There is a clear demand for this service from both business and leisure travellers and we anticipate that this news will be warmly received both across our global network, as well as by the business community based in the Stansted catchment area.”

Emirates also announced it will be increasing capacity on flights to Hamburg from Monday October 29.

The airline will introduce the first scheduled commercial Airbus A380, increasing capacity by 22 percent.

The Emirates Airbus A380 on the Dubai-Hamburg route will have a total of 516 seats across three classes and will replace the Boeing 777 currently used on the route. Emirates said the move to an A380 is a result of “consistently high load factor on the Dubai flight”.

Flight EK061 will become an A380 flight, leaving Dubai every day at 3pm and arriving in Hamburg at 7.05pm.

The return flight, EK062, departs Hamburg at 9pm and lands in Dubai at 6.20am the next morning.
