Emirates is among the world's cheapest airlines, new research has revealed.
Travel planning platform Rome2Rio reviewed air fares for economy class seats around the world, showing the national airline is among the most affordable.
The study shows prices per kilometre, with Emirates flights coming out at an average of $0.11 (Dhs0.40).
The report covered 200 airlines, and prices for Emirates are similar to Singapore Airlines ($0.11), Cathay Pacific ($0.11), AirAsia ($0.13) and even easyJet ($0.19).
Rome2Rio's Kirsteene Phelan said: “Since our 2016 report, we have seen some significant shifts in pricing and ranking.
“We are often seeing travellers from the UK to Asia and Australia booking with carriers such as Etihad, Royal Brunei Airlines, China Southern and Emirates.”
Taking the top three spots were AirAsia X at $0.07 per kilometre, Air India Express at $0.08 and Indonesia AirAsia $0.08.
Emirates has recently announced new flights from Dubai to Stansted starting from Friday June 8. After this report, it’s safe to say it may be one of the best ways to get there.
