À La Grecque’s eggplant
There are few vegetables as versatile and grounding as the humble eggplant. Order this one from À La Grecque and you won’t be disappointed. Usually served with feta, ask your server to hold this, and you’ll be handed a warm, healthy meal, with just the right amount of char.

BB Social Dining’s chestnut bao
BB is much-loved for its bao, and just because you can’t dig into a duck or short-rib version, there’s absolutely no need to miss out, as this veg option is super-tasty and a must-try for vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. The steamed and toasted bun (made with BB’s special bao dough recipe) is filled with flavour-packed mushroom and chestnut croquette – all topped off with dried mushrooms and a drizzle of indulgent, truffley sauce.

Boon Coffee’s avocado toast (without labneh)
Though specialising in Ethiopian coffee, Boon knows a thing or two about what goes into creating a delicious breakfast, too. Its avocado toast, usually served with labneh and topped with dried fruits, is officially one of the best in the city. Ask them to hold the labneh and you’ve got a dreamy vegan eat.

Lana Lusa’s Portuguese fries
Ok, so fries may not be a full meal in itself (even though vegans are used to making it so) but these are too good to miss. Potatoes have been cut into circle shapes and fried Portuguese style to make some of the most delicious fries you’ve ever tried.

Liban by Allo Beirut’s warm falafel salad
Falafel is basically a vegetable (kind of). The crispy morsels are made out of chickpeas or fava beans, sometimes both, plus fresh herbs and here are tossed with a light, tangy salad.

Little Jun’s’ bang bang cauliflower
While it’s fair to say that anything fried tastes good, we can assure you, not as brilliant as this cauliflower. Coated with a gluten-free tempura batter and glazed with tiger bite seasoning, this is a crispy, yet sticky addition that needs to be on every vegan’s table (thank us, later).

Pickl’s Impossible Burger wrapped in lettuce
Vegetarians and vegans the world over are fans of the famous Impossible Burger a plant-based patty that’s as close to the real deal as you’re going to get. Pickl, which is serious about its burgers, serves up the Beyond Burger in a vegetarian-friendly smooshy potato pun, layered with house pickles, slathered in melted cheese and lashings of secret sauce. Opt for a lettuce wrap, hold the cheese and skip the sauce, and your burger will be vegan. Feeling extra hungry? Double up your burgers. Now, that’s something you get your chops around.

Perfectly fresh avocado and cucumber sticks are wrapped in sticky quinoa and seaweed for a flavour explosion in the mouth. Hold off the sauce, and these are vegan, dip into black sesame sauce, and they’re vegetarian-friendly.
